Day 1: MEET & GREET
Today we met at a Mercure Hotel located near L'aéroport de Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle (Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris). After our tour directors Dr. Cindy Brown, Mr. Blake Seward, and Dr. Lee Windsor introduced themselves and the other two members of the 2017 Command Team (Mr. Joel Watson and Mr. Ben Seward), they gave us a brief overview of the upcoming two weeks. We then participated in an icebreaker activity to get to know one another.

We come from all across Canada and are approaching this tour with varied background knowledge and experiences. We are students, teachers, parents, lawyers, nurses, university professors, and members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Our different backgrounds impact our understanding of Canada's military history. This in turn will lead to in-depth discussions and debates around the teaching of Canada's experiences in the First World War and Second World War.
