- To engage participants in inquiry-based learning activities so that they acquired an in-depth understanding of Canada’s experiences in the First World War and the Second World War, and
- To expose participants to ideas and pedagogical methods that will enable them to successfully engage today's youth in learning about History.

- Meet in Paris Day 2 (July 10): - Travel to Ieper/Ypres, Belgium - Visit the Island of Ireland Peace Park and Mesen/Messines - Discussion: The outbreak of the First World War Day 3 (July 11): - Ieper/Ypres, Belgium - Visit sites related to Canada's experiences in the Ypres Salient 1915-1917 including Langemarck German Military Cemetery, Vancouver Corner, and Passchendaele - Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial Day 4 (July 12): - Travel to Arras, Hauts-de-France - Visit sites of 1916's Battle of the Somme including the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial, the Moulin à vent Memorial, and the Tank Corps Memorial Day 5 (July 13): - Arras, Hauts-de-France - Visit sites related to Canada's experiences in France in 1917 including the Vimy Memorial, the town of Givenchy-en-Gohelle, and Hill 70 - Discussion: The Vimy Oaks Legacy Day 6 (July 14): - Visit sites relevant to Canada's experiences during the final days of the First World War - Travel to Dieppe, Seine-Maritime - Introduction to the Second World War and the 19 August 1942 Dieppe Raid - Visit the Plage-Baignade Puys (Blue Beach) Day 7 (July 15): - Tactical Exercise Without Troops (TEWT) - Visit sites related to the 19 August 1942 Dieppe Raid including Dieppe's beach and the Canadian Dieppe War Cemetery - Visit the Dieppe Market - Travel to Bayeux, Calvados |

- Bayeux, Calvados - Workshop: Best Practices When Teaching History - Introduction to the D-Day landings - Visit the Batterie Allemande/German Battery at Longues-sur-Mer Day 9 (July 17): - Bayeux, Calvados - Inquiry-based learning group project - Visit sites related Canada's role on Juno Beach including the Juno Beach Centre Day 10 (July 18): - Bayeux, Calvados - Inquiry-based learning group project - Visit sites related to the role of Canada's allies on D-Day such as Omaha Beach and the American Military Cemetery and Memorial Day 11 (July 19): - Bayeux, Calvados - Presentations: Operation Overlord operational plans - Visit sites such as the Abbaye d'Ardenne and the Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery to consider the events of the days following the D-Day Invasion Day 12 (July 20): - Bayeux, Calvados - Visit sites relevant to the Canadian campaign south of Caen such as Varrières Ridge and Point 122 Day 13 (July 21): - Bayeux, Calvados - Visit Falaise and Urville-Langannerie Polish War Cemetery - Visit with Canadian cousins in Rocquancourt Day 14 (July 22): - Visit sites related to the end of the Normandy Campaign such as Trun and the Mémorial de Montormel - Return to Paris |
